Coolant seal test: Take off radiator cap WHILE COLD. Start the car and run it, revving it with the throttle body while looking for any bubbles rising up from the coolant neck (like champaign bubbles, not big ones). If more bubbles come up when you rev the engine, you have a blown coolant seal.

I may have one, but not too badly yet. I don't get the bubbles in the radiator, but there definatley is some rust in the oil fill neck and water in the top of the cap from the oil pan, so IDK as of yet.

Vibrating of the shift **** is a common problem. Replace the bushings. A JDM transmission is cheaper than a new set of tires.

you must tear the engine apart to get to the seals so most people just do a rebuild while everything in apart....focus on doing a tune up and get her running right BEFORE you upgrade anything.

If you were supposed to revmatch all the time, why do you think they have syncros in the transmission? I know I never do it, and I never had a problem with a tranny in any car *yet*. That is the sole purpose of the synchronizers..

Hey your that same guy that put a B26 motor in a RX7 What a dork!! (j/K)

Yes if you rev with your heal on the gas then you are Rev matching and on older trannies wiht WORN synchros you have to do that or else you grind 'em.

think about it this way, try to use your brakes more than anything, the reason being is they are cheaper to fix then a clutch or a transmission. what i do is put it into a lower gear but still have the clutch in, i put on my brakes then when im ready to go, i find the proper gear and them i go.

putting it in a lower gear uses the synchros regardless of whether or not you release the clutch. unless you've reached a complete stop...
if you want to save your trans then shift it into neutral when you're coming to a stop. Of course, we don't all want to drive our turbo sports cars like 80 year old ladies.
