Talking Tuesday night's fun, RX-7 style!

The look on my face tells all, not a clue of the fun that lies ahead! And you will notice that I am dutifully consulting the FSM bible for details

Still cool calm and collected…

A couple of more turns on the cross member bolts and then the engine will be secure, I had to remove the passenger mount completely to get the others to line up, then tilt the engine slightly to slide the left mount into position and tighten it up.

Working up a bit of a sweat, and it’s not done yet!

It’s in!

A happy guy, nothing broken, nothing dropped and no scratches either!

Detailing details

I received a resonably clean shortblock from MNAO, they paint the rotor housings silver and the irons with a pewter grey paint.

I cleaned all of the hoses and coated them with protectant, cleaned and re-wrapped both the main and secondary
wiring harnesses. Dissassembled cleaned and lubricated the airpump.

I took all of my original aluminum acessories apart and first glass beaded them down to base metel and then clear coated them with
'high temp' engine clearcoat (p/s, a/c pump bracket, alternator housing, air pump, lower, upper intake, dynamic chamber,
BAC and oil filter pedestal) then reassembled them.

I bead blasted all of the pullies, most of the black brackets that are visible and most of the mounting bolts for all of the acessories
and then painted them with satin black paint (then bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours).

I replaced the bearings in the alternator, all new Gatorback belts, new HD ACT clutch kit, stainless clutch line, new Mindtrain header,
silencer and 'y' pipe, new plugs and fuel filter. Replaced the front and rear seals and cover gasket on the transmission.
Of course, new fluids in all of the appropriate reservoirs.

And bunch of other things that I probably already forgot about.

Nice job, looks real sharp. Damn you keep everything so clean. Clean rags, clean garage, clean tools, clean floor... I tend to work in a cluttered *** mess until I am done, then I clean up all the beer cans and cigarette butts. You must clean as you go, Thats almost like a complex clean.

P.S. your missing half the fun with the overalls and gloves.. the 2 Hrs in the shower with a scrub brush on bare skin is what it's all about!
