Trying to determin if my front strut tower is bent
Hey all,
I go to the FC manual and get the dimensions for the tower front mounting holes. The issue is this: The manual calls out 2 different dimensions, one of 37.13" and one at 37.4". This is for the same hole to hole dimension. One dimension is looking from the top and one from the bottom. I suppose that the bolts go in at an angle but that seems like a big difference.
So I ask: what other way is there to tell if my shock towers are bent? And then a follow up BIG question: how do you straighten them if bent?
Thanks,
Ben

Put it on an alignment rack. These cars have a tendency for the towers to lean in with age, especially without a tower brace. If out, jack up under the frame, in the center, the towers will lean outward some, then install a strut bar, adjustable preferred. If not adjustable you'll need to get the towers out to get the bar in place. After the bar installation, you can always use an eccentric bolt to get it in alignment if not out too far.
