I currently have the Trust JDM Power Extreme II Exhaust on my car and I have to say, the exhaust note is starting to get annoying. I was wondering if anyone knew about an exhaust silencer that would quiet the exhaust note of the system I have?

 

^ um, how about running the racing beat downpipe and presilencer setup? Expensive, but worth it from what I hear. Personally, though, the sound of swarming mosquitoes never gets annoying, but for the neighbors...

 

I know, 1. Emissions and 2. I don't have the money for a new exhaust setup, and all I really want to do is to quiet my exhaust noise.

 

Well, unfortunatley there isn't much you can do if you're going for emissions compliance except put in a cat in place of the presilencer when it comes to test time. That and there is no real fix for noise on a cat-back exhaust system unless it offers a silencer insert, but I think I have the same exhaust, which means that there isn't one available. If you post some pics of the exhaust, I could tell you for sure, but IDK otherwise.

 

As far as i know the PE doesn't have an optional silencer..

Are you running the stock DP/CAT?

The RB DP/presilencer isnt that expensive. under 200 for the 2.5" DP/PS

If you are running the stock DP and CAT, then i don't think you have any options to make it quieter other then getting rid of the catback.

Thanks for the info, I'm hoping there's a universal silencer somewhere out there that I can use.

 

Look for the ATS silencer by apex'i. Its supposed to have a valved design to open it up under higher exhaust flows. I think there was a thread on it a few weeks ago, but I don't know if it had any reviews.

 

does it fit the Trust Power Extreme II? I think my diameter is 60-80 according to the Trust website. I'll go check the threads out, but please, if anyone knows of a silencer that fits this exhaust, let me know!
