Is it true that?

is it true that i can do a bunch of tac welds on the chassis and the places to wear it connects to stiffen it up cause i have little bit of rust on some parts where the chassis connects to and was wondering about grinding down the rust then doing some tac welds... so does it do anything? cause i got a welding machine there and i could do it...
Thanks

i would think no .. but i could be wrong. i think that the only way to stiffen the chassis is to support with some type of brace

*note* You cant get a good weld on rusty metal. Best to clean the surface from rust and debris, then weld.

Time attack cars in Japan?! Dude, they've been stitch-welding race car chassis all over the world for decades.

stich weld is another word for seam welding it "does"stiffen up the chassies but not to a degree any one would notice on the street more for race cars that need EVERY little bit of stiffness what you do is find the factory tacwelds and elongate them by about 4" a weld
