Trip/ cooing problem

Has anyone taken a trip run the car constantly for 2 to 3 hours at about 80 to 90 mph and had the car run hot?

reason asking is because mine did after anout 2-1/2 hours
had to drop down to 70 and crack hood open
made trip take a lot longer

I have done this many times with my N/A with no problems at all with cooling. I will be doing this with a heavily Modded TII 88AE in about 3 months. I hope I don't have any cooling problems if I can't reliably take road trips the car is useless to me. I will have a upgraded radiator, and a electric fan on my AE. And I will do whatever it takes to prevent any cooling issues.

Anyone have other sugestions of what i might need to kepp a heavily modded TII from OH'ing?
