transmission speedo gear

is it hard to replace the transmission speedometer gear?

i bought a new speedo cable and it ends up that its the broken plastic speedo gear in the trans. can i replace it easily?

you would have to pull off the nose of the tranny...the gear is on the inside of the nose!
