Tranny Fluid....did a search!

I'm replacing my plate and disc tomorrow so I might as well change the tranny fluid too. I did a search to find that all you guys talk about is the royal purple and redline. Can they be bought at a store or only ordered?
I don't need anything fancy though. I only do spirited city driving! Some stuff from Canadian Tire wil do fine. I'll put out the cash for something synthetic though if the other ones aren't offered over the counter!!!

Thanks

Redline MTL here..

I get it at my local parts store, and my local racer's supply store.. Check out redline's website, they should have a dealer locator there

No dealer in my area that's for sure

I'm assuming a high grade synthetic would be fine too?

What would you guys recommend?

Does anyone have any ones other than the redline or royal purple that is working fine or better than what they originally had?

I need it tomorrow morning and I can't wait for ordering it either

Thanks

Where do you shop? I know that Napa around here carries Royal Purple. Get 90W Royal Purple. Or www.summitracing.com will ship all the Redline MT-90 you want to your front door. And remember, this stuff is actually a bit pricey!

I got Amsoil synthetic at my local parts store. $7 bucks a quart. Not cheap.

Considering there is no real difference between MT-90 and RP 90W, why you snickering?

Here is my 201,000 miles (FD) & 285,000 miles (FC) - original engine; experience I had on synthetics.

I Have used Redline throughout with no ill-effects at all.

I actually gained in MPG and about 5HP

I've used Redline for 12 years and love it.

Mobil one used to have a good formula, but they went cheap to make more $$$ per bottle.

I heard great things about Amsoil overall. Dunno much about the tranny fluid.

Now, I heard NOTHING significant about Royal Purple - Seriously would u trust a name like that? It's about as bad as Slick 50.......

Redline put some friction modifiers to make ur gears sync-up faster for better shifting.

Redline MT-90 rocks! I had a tranny with a diagnosed dead 1-2 gear syncro. (IE: it would grind everytime on the downshift from 2nd to 1st unless you were at a complete stop or revmatching) I changed the fluid to MT-90 and drove for about 100 miles. The syncro is back and 100% cured! I will use no other fluid in my 7's.

Call up Summit Racing and have it shipped. Two days max to pretty much anywhere. It's worth the money and the wait.

hers the small print: the 201,000mile fd is not on the original motor. the 5hp gain was imaginary.

thank you
the management
