Tranmission Swap

I have an 87 tII and will need to soon change the tranny (grinding through gears). I was wondering if i need to buy a tII s4 tranny or will a tII s5 swap fine? thanks for the help.

On turbos the S4 & S5 are a direct swap.

Would a TII tranny help my n/a any? I'd buy the new diff and shaft w/ it of course... =P

i think the ratio's are the same on the NA and TII trannies, but the TII is just a tougher tranny, but im sure i will be corrected if wrong =D

The Turbo tranny ratios are slightly higher: 68 in 5th at 3500 vs 74 with the NA.

you can use the turboII yoke and mate it to your n/a driveshaft as well

thanks for the info sureshot, and what should i look for as in miles if i need to replace mine (ie. min and max) and a price range?
