Trailing coils won't fire..

First of all this has probably been covered, but i searched and searched and most of the links are do to with using msd boxes or haltec.

My car is completly stock, but i am getting abosolutly no spark from the trailing coil when running. As well, my car does the double beep........double beep at me and the tach refuses to work.

Like is said the car is completly stock and i would appreciate it if someone could help me diagnose this problem.

I know a bit, i had a probe GT running Simple Digital Systems em3F, super60T3 with a bunch of other mods, but i just got this car and it is the new project

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thank you!

The tach won't work because it's wired to the does coils.
What you need to do is pull a set from a junkyard and throw them on and see if they work. If you have a buddy with a 7, "borrow" his for testing.

The problem is either they're dead, or the signal from the ECU is not getting to them. Check the wiring to them and make sure it's not broken.

Also, download the FSM (link in the FAQ sticky) and test them per the FSM.

No, i am still trying to figure it out... It seems that when i remove the coil pack and brakets (ie its not grounding out) the tach works but seems really slow and slugish.

All wiring and connections seem ok from what i can see, but htis is my first rx7 and i have absolutly no experience with them or rotarys. THis is the first one i have ever drove, or drove in.....so i don't really know what to expect

Any advice (even the most basic) would help. Please help guys!!

thanks

Ground the trailing to the bellhousing or starter.
