The other car does not run, it could, but ive robbed a couple parts to finish my turbo car... The coil is grounded, ive cleaned the bracket as well as where it mounts to the firewall, tried different ground straps, different AFM, my N/A ECU( ran, but poorly, and still no trailing...) I tested the wires in the 4pin going to the coil and 2 of the 3 to test tested right within spec, the other, which is supposed to be <2volts when the car is running or not, read 12v... this is the return signal wire from the coil... both ECU's tested this way though... One other very interesting thing, is if i unground (unbolt) trailing coil, the tach starts working again! leads me to believe the trailing coil has a short? or is it the ECU? not sure... i should have my e-bay'd coil pack this week, ill put it in and give an update. any other suggestions in the meantime? thanks.

Just thought I might post a followup incase anyone ran across this thread with a similar problem,,, I got my coil off e-bay ($40) put it in, crossed my fingers, and.....it worked. I got tach and trailing spark back. while relieved, I'm still baffeled that this was the problem, since i swapped in the coil from my n/a and it didn't work. possibly a bad coil in that? tach worked when it was parked....weird, anyway, problem solved, thanks for you help everyone!

I'd suggest that one of the first two coils was not bolted down to the mounts for the coil assy. The ignitor needs to use the body of the coil assy for a ground for the electronics inside the ignitor. I'm betting if you took those two other coil assy and mounted them again, one of the two would work.

i'd disagree.... i tried both various times before i ordered the e-bay unit.... i made very sure neither of them worked first. I read somewhere you can damage the ignitor by plugging in the 4pin with the ign on? possibly this happened to the n/a coil....it was also stamped 100b, while the old one and e-bay one said 100a on the model tag... i wish one did work, id try to make back my money on e-bay!
