Track Time 13.6 88 Turbo II
Ok, just got back from sac so I thought I'd post my times..
Car is 88 Turbo, Full RB exhaust, HKS intake, HKS FMIC, HKS blow off valve, AVCR for Boost, SAFC for fuel. The turbo is stock with the compressor wheel upgraded to a T04b and ported waste gate.
The car will boost to 12psi, then slowly bleeds down to 11-10 range on the higher RPMs.
First run
Reaction .622
60 foot 2.113
ET 13.9
mph 98
This run, I had to shift through all gears to get car down track, centerforce dual friction clutch was not heated up and slipped all the way, RPMs from launch went to 6800 and stayed, then rose up, so I shifted to next gear, same thing, 6800, then up... ened up in 5th gear at the end.. of the 1/4 mile.
2nd run
Reaction .552
60 foot 2.208
et 14.0
mph 101
This run, bad launch, bogged, clutch held ok, but still had mild slippage, but run felt good, but I lost it off the line, but time was not so good.
Final run
Reaction .652
60 foot 2.018
et 13.6
mph 101
Ok, basicly reved to 4500-5000 rpm, pulled e brake, and as the lights staged down, slowly slipped the clutch out, car jumed off the line and had to actually slightly throttle out to keep it in control, pulled good, clutch held together, and the sweet mustang I raced was well behind me at the end.
This was my first time back to the track in about 1 year, the car has run a best time of 13.4 at 104mph, I was hoping to beat this time, I think if I could have gotten another run It would have been close, Trying to launch this car off the line is a major bitch, if I can get 60 foot times in the 1.9 range I'll be low 13's.
Also, the car had street tires, 17inch wheels, full interior, spare, and my polk audio box in the back..., also all belts, usually I have the AC belt off, but its been hot so I need AC right now, don't know if that really helps.
One last note, first two runs I had my SAFC in the +8 range on the higher RPMs, driving home on the free way I've dialed it down to +2 on all RPMS, no detonation that I can hear, and the car seems to run stronger, all 550's have been flow tested and cleaned and I have a RP upgraded fuel pump, but sometimes I wonder if I even need the SAFC, seems to run good with only mild adjustments of +2 enrichment. Hope I'm not running it to lean.
OK, some other noteworthy cars at the track
Brand new Zo6 corvete, with 405 HP badge on the side, he ran a 13.4 (this car is capable of 12's) (I actually raced him when I ran the 13.9, he ran a 14.6 at 106mph... this proves you need to know how to DRIVE your car.) Lots of new mustange GT's.. most running in 14.4's-14.8 range, I have a friend with new GT and full exhaust and intake, he was running 13.9, 13.8, then a 13.6 (he took his headlamp off to get more airflow into his intake, said it was good for .2's.. and it worked!!) Another new GT with some goddies, and slicks.. best time of 13.4(with slicks??). Bottom line, I have found my RX-7 to kill almost anything on the road if I get some sort of rolling start, say a slow rolling start from a light, then both cars hit it... Ok, thats enought.. just thought I'd share, also I met the guy that owns the RX7 with a grand national motor in it.... CRAZY FAST CAR, and the driver was nice guy also.

where can I get schedule info for the Sac raceway .. i'm only in Stockton I would love to take one on my RX's up there on a "open" nite.
Even if I don't run it would be alot of fun to watch I'm sure.
P.S. what are the hardcore ricers running in the Honda's and such?

This was actually called gudge raceing night, 35.00 to race, this was the first time I went on this type of night, and I highly recomment this, there were only I'd say 10 hondas around.. all slow. All other cars were V8's. This event you just race for a time slip, no elimentaions. Wed. sport drags has eliminations and costs less, but way to many hondas.

Do the Honda's on Wed's run better than your TII? The goal for 88 Project is to **** on Honda's around here. I never see anything the looks fast running around town, but I would love to know what kind of times a fast sleeper would post.

Doa, I was just reading the Sacraceway site you posted. I can run my Bike!
"Motorcycle racers slower than 10.99 seconds are required to wear a heavy jacket, gloves, helmet with eye protection, and shoes covering the tops of the ankles. Significant additional requirements including full leathers are required for motorcycles quicker than 10.99 seconds."
I just need to buy full leathers and such, I think my bike will run in the 9's I would love to find out for sure though.

yes there's hondas that run faster than my turbo II, however, these hondas have no interior, slicks, NOS and turbo's. I have seen very few streetable hondas in the 13's. I can tell you dislike hondas, but there is a honda owner out there that will be faster than your turbo II, chances are you'll never meet him/her though. There are very few fast sleeper hondas, I have never come across one, but the sleepers usually use NOS. I have never lost a street race to a honda.
