Tow Dolly
I have to tow an NA FC for 400 miles. Its a 5speed. Do I need to pull the driveshaft? I've searched and read conflicting reports. I don't know the guy im getting it from and don't want to spend a lot of time, so If I don't have to drop the shaft. The car is for parts anyways, but I don't want to ruin the tranny. Can I just leave the manual in neutral? I had planned on getting a flatbed but none are available for the time I need it.

You can leave a 5-speed in neutral and tow it any distance.
The only situation in which you'd run into problems towing one of these cars would be with an automatic, which you need to take special precautions with (can tow up to either 50 or 200 miles under certain circumstances. Haynes manual says, but I don't recall exact number)

You must have missed that part. Two people I know who have them are of the type where the brakes are locked without an electronic trailer brake controller, and Uhaul doesn't have any available for the weekend I need it.

Tow dolly wins hands down for a nice, controllable easy pull. I especially like the part where you get no sway whatsoever.
Just my experiences.
Good luck.
