Tore apart engine, how do these housings look?

I tore apart my engine on sunday... I didnt think that the engine looked that good. There was some rust on the rotors and the seals were worn extensively! In fact there were no outter oil seals on any of the rotors! I got some pics here I want to know if these look too damaged to re-use. Also will resurfaceing help them out. The rear housing has a small rut in it that looks like it was from the rotor rubing on it.

that looks pretty chewed up to me...when my first motor went south and I tore it apart the housings were eally in great shape except for a few makes the cracked apex seal left when it blew apart (rendering otherwise shiny smooth housings un-usable.

Unfortunately from the quality of the picture it is hard to tell. It would be hard to tell with a good picture though. Its one of those things that needs to be seen and measured to make an accurate asessment. Housings can discolor and there will be small grooves where the side seals intersect. It may just need lapping (resurfacing) or it may be dead. Can't tell. The rotor housings themselves are more fragile than the side housings. Those are probably dead. They usually are.

Your coolant must have been mixing with the oil... notice the missing metal at the bottom of the housing

housings cannot be resurfaced...removing any surface crud would have to be done VERY VERY carefully bc you cannot mill rotor housings at all.

Rotor housings can't be resurfaced. End and intermediate housings can. Mine are.

There is a ridge on the front on the outter housings, i think that can be lapped off though. It dosent look too deep. I am more worried about the rotor housings at this point. I dont know if they are shot or not. If so I think it is turbo time!

rotors housings looks fine to me, your going to expect some flaking in the rotor housings for an old car, the thing you should worry about is the outter edges of the chrome surface, as long as the tracings dont go over 0.001" deep. I have a rotor housing that looks quite similar in shape as yours and will be using them for my current rebuild.

look for water jacket rusts too... but looking at the pictures i see the sides of the housing to look fairly new.
