on the topic of weight reduction

what have people chucked out to make the car lighter?
the handling of the rx7 is **** compared to the skyline. lightning would make faster but make the handling worse, is this the case or not?

Suspension makes your car handle better dude.... I don't know where you got your figures from either, but I see a lot more FC's in drift/road racing videos than I do Skylines... That says something there.

But there is more to it than "weight reduction makes you go faster..."

How is the 7 handling worse that the skyline handling? Skyline's drive like boats.

My 7 has NEVER been beaten when going thru the twisties here. Those heavy fockers always fall back...can't keep their cars from oversteering.

i sold my skyline gtst after owning it for 5 years, i can drift for forking ages. i got my 7 and its too easy to lose control, it goes sideways so you button off and the thing just hanges out the other way. the skyline just snaps back. i havent heard of 7s handling too well.

What type of suspension are you running on your 7? What about your GTS-T?

Could be the suspension on your 7's old. Possibly your front sway bars have taken a crap if you turn and your front bottoms out...

Sounds like his dampers are ***'ed up... usual cause of "tank-slappers" - not enough damping to control the springs, so when the tires get traction they grab and send the *** out the other way.

the 7 was ment for race style cornering, brake on the straight, turn in and power thru the apex of the corner, not hanging it out sideways style that a skyline must use because its the only way it can corner.........

hit me on ICQ i'll tell you how to get it to handle

but where u got that a 7 has bad handling from i do not know ..... all i have to do is let go of the steering wheel when hitting a corner and it corrects itself then i grip it back at the right time..
i think u have that disease goin around...
non driver disease

Don't know about the handeling. I am chucking out the back seat. There will never be anyone sitting back there any way. I will try to find a liter hood.

My ReX doesn't run right now so I have not actually drove one. So I can't comment on handeling. And I sure as heck have never drove a Skyline.

Halo

An FC Turbo and an R32 GTS-t both weigh about the same (~1320kg) and have the same front suspension, the R32 has better rear suspension and the FC has better weight distribution. But there’re likely to be tuned differently from the factory (shock/spring/swaybar rates), plus the RX-7 is 4-5 years older, so unless they’ve been replaced the shocks are at the end of their life.
