Just wondering because when I was looking for a cheap high flow cat I was told that it's very possible something like a magnaflow that isn't made for rotaries would be toast in no time.

Yup. I poked around and got a lead on a used one from a drag car, but then I'm like, 'Why not just get a new one and then I shouldn't have to worry about what shape it's in?'

You can also check out all the regular parts suppliers online. When I changed my clutch, the inner and middle shift boots melted in my hand. Gonna use some radient insulation as a temp fix.

Okay, finally got both boots and threw them in tonight. $75 for two pieces of rubber and a steel ring.
Funny, my *** wasn't this sore b4 I went into the dealership...
That upper boot is a tight goddamn fit! And now the shifter takes a bit more effort to move.
But the flow of hot air is gone! Hallelujah!

Yeah, you arent lying. Of course summer last a bit longer here. For $52 (including shipping) I got 3 peices, a big boxy thing, and 2 boots. Gonna put them in tonight, and NO MORE HOT AIR!!!
Hey, on a totally unrelated subject, did you know that gods gift to music, The Cowboy Junkies, come from Canada?

So I think I didn't put the boots in properly. The outer leather boot and the shifter are still hot as hell and the leather boot looks like it's wearing an adult diaper.
I'll rip it apart and try again shortly - way too friggin' busy for that just now...

Awright - I got it on properly.
I've used only 2 pieces, btw.
C, F and the topmost piece in J (F and J came in the same bag.) Is any of these the Big Boxy Thing that you got?

hey i havent read the whole thing so someone may have already said this. i have had my car for 2 years now and it has done that the whle time i have owned it. i didnt figure out what it was till i toke my dash/center console piece out of my car. what it is is bolted directly to ur tranny tunnel is a thick piece of rubber that seals against ur shifter to prevent that. in mine it is melted and urs probably is to. but if you take off the center consle and restuff ur inslation in there after looking at what i am tlaking about then you can cut down on ab\lot of the air flow comin through.

I may well have gotten the J set, then. There are 3 pieces to the 'unit' that came in the bag (my head's a little clearer at night - ignore that I didn't realize this this morning) But the top 2 were already together and the base was separate (I schnooked it all together when I threw it in.)
There was another piece in the print-out that the dealer gave me - I don't have it in front of me and I don't have a scanner. But it looked like a rectangular piece that is also intended to go in around the shifter somehow. I'll follow it up when I have time (in a week or two.) If we're gonna do this, we might as well be thorough.
