timing help!!!

Well, I need to get my timing set correctly....but the pulley that came on my new engine has no marks!! they are nicked up or gone.....

at any rate, I got the pulley from my old engine... My questions is how to install it correctly when you are not sure where tdc is??? Is there a way to install the CAS to make is close, or is their only one way I can put the pulley on to make it accurate??

Its going on a dyno with my new standalone, but I need to get my timing set to TDC before we start F-in with it.

Thanks for any help.

The pully is dinged where the marks go. The bolt holes in the pully are keyed so it'll only go on one way. Use a wrench on the alt. pully to turn the motor over and feel the edge of the main pully as it's turning. there should be two dings in the edge (like you hit it with a chisel) fairly cose together. Mark those dings with white-out and you're in like flin.

Cory
who has a main pully that's marked with paint in the WRONG place!
