you can adjust timing with a timing light. ( use a timing light that has battery connectors and clamp on spark plug wire, not one that just has clamp)
look at factory manual at fc3s.org under engine electricals to see picture of timing marks on main pulley. also make sure idle is at 750 and jumper the initial set coupler, which is explained in the manual
you have to adjust CAS and make sure leading and trailing marks are lined up right. its same as adjusting timing on piston cars w/ distributors, but you have to check 2 different coils.
if you cannot bring it into spec, then you have to take out CAS and re-install it by factory manual instuctions
