TII SP timing?

What timing degrees do you guys reccommend for an 87 TII streetported motor?

I have an Mazda racing underdrive pulley and it is marked. It reccommends for leading 15btc@6k and for trailing 10btc@6k.

Looking at the manual, it says to adjust timing at idle, what timing should I be going for at idle then? or should I just time it at 6k?

Any input is greatly appreciated. I'm not too familiar with timing.

Thanks,
Aaron

what is stock timing at idle? sorry, the manual just says yellow for leading and red for trailing i think, but i have the MR pulley so i'm not sure what stock timing would be on it. It came with a chart and reccommends 15btc@6k leading and 5btc@6k trailing for stock, but that's not done at idle like the manual says. Sorry if its a stupid question.

Also, I did time it at 6k and leading came out to 15btc but when I did trailing it was way off. It was like 30btc and I moved the CAS as much as I could and I could only get it down to 20. Could it maybe be off a tooth when I inserted the CAS? I swear I put in in alligned tho...

Ok, I found it. It's actually just on the friggin vehicle emmissions label on the underside of the hood, haha. So... L-20 ATDC, T- 5 ATDC. Now WTF, Mazda Racing didn't even put in a 5 ATDC mark on the pulley, only a 20 and then 0. Arghhh!

No, Leading is 5 ATDC, and Trailing is 20. Just set the trailings at 20, the leading should automatically fall into line (assuming your ignition system is functioning correctly).

I think 2a+RoN meant 20*B*TDC.
Most aftermarket pulleys are only marked for BTDC.

If it runs, don't romp on it.
You can't kill it just idling.
