throttle positioning sensor???? Pls help

I just bought my first rx7. Its got a 13b motor in it. Non turbo. The car is in excellent shape besides this one problem. When I am going down the road sometimes the check engine light will come on. It only affects the driveability of the car when I get on the throttle. When i do this the car holds back and wants to fall on it's face. but if I drive it easy and ease on the throttle none of this happens even when the check engine light has come on. If its not on the car will run perfectly when I get on the throttle, but you can make a safe bet soon after i get on it hard the check engine light will come on when I'm accelerating and bog down the motor until i quickly let off the gas and ease back into it. when i do this the car runs perfectly smooth. I thought maybe the throttle positioning sensor was not giving input to the computer fast enogh and goofing something up, what do all you guys think?

Sounds like the car is going into limp mode due to an engine problem. May or may not be TPS related. I doubt it. Anyway, the shop manual is available at download sites via the links in the 2nd gen FAQ. Also, do some searches in the forum for reading CEL error codes. It is a simple (actually primative by todays procedures) process and that should be your starting point. I'll see if I can come up with some links and repost here.

Check out the appropriate link(s) on this page: http://fc3spro.com/TECH/HOWTO/howto.html
