There is some merit saying you're doing it as a hobby. A hobby is something that you enjoy doing that you are going to spend your time and money on.
That is a very cool looking throttle body, but I wouldn't say $700 cool.

just note its in aussie dollars. about $.75- $.80 to the dollar.
so more like $525-$550, plus shipping, plus new LIM, plus standalone, plus assorted hardware needed to make them work. Its certainly not cheap.

Dont forget the TPS, FPR, vacuum block.
That being said, i bet money that the rotary sounds killer through ITB's. Probably worth the cash there, at least in my book.

I personally would love to get that ITB setup, but I just can't justify it right now. I keep telling myself I'll do it once I get a good turbo car, but I know I'll just want to spend the money on the turbo car. I dunno.

id say you would have to have some pretty good fab skills to get it all to work (i.e throttle cable, getting them to work in sequence)... and if not, having a shop do the work which is gonna rack the cost factor up.....
i for one am always one of the guys who says to go turbo ive modded na's, built cheap turbo fcs, and now have my monster... i always go for bang-for-the-buck ... and staying naturally apirated is just the wrong way to make hp.... which is why the most common responce is "just turbo it"... because there are alot of us on this forum who have been in that guys shoes, so we know what we are talking about! we are just trying to help him out... if he takes our advice, great.. if not, oh well, ill still be able to sleep at night!
my opinion... individual tbs are cool, and really do help, but for the cost of adding them, the stand alone, manifold, fab work, and tuning.... you'd be far ahead horspower wise if you'd gone turbo (go ahead and shun me rotarygod) ...
in the end, its up to you... do what you want to do!

What I generally say is that if you want more than about 180-190 to the wheels, then going turbo is the best way to do it. The amount of time and money spent on squeezing power out of an NA engine just doesn't make sense for most people.
I have an NA and love it. It is relatively simple to work on and bulletproof as long as you keep track of the fluids and don't overheat it. I really want to build a really baddass NA with ITBs and what not, but I also really want to build a monster turbo car, so I think I'm going to build the turbo car first.
That said, if the OP wants to get ITB's, great! I can see what its like cause we live in the same city (when he's not in Iraq, that is.)

I saw that.

Yeah, with about $50 shipping. (What it costs to get stuff from Hong Kong.) $700-ish USD.
I actually thought of a good reason to get it while I was driving today, but damnit I can't remember what it was.
Oh wait, now I remember. It wasn't a reason to get the ITB, it was in response to the question, "What's a good investment for a RX7?"
CO2 Fire extinguisher.

852.00 AUD = 655.870 USD
1 AUD = 0.769801 USD

IIRC GST is an aussie tax that foreigners dont pay. hence the two different prices. Perhaps an aussie can chime in on that.

As for paying GST Im not sure, but Im under the impression you dont need to if selling out of australia.
But as I said b4, lots of guys use them in there turbo set ups. Gennerally you have a aftermarket ecu anway, so the cost isnt huge.
+ FC's and other rx7's are still fairly pricy cars, we expect to spend a bit more.

check out Ausrotary.com
there are some dyno results showing good power gains (still unless you really looking at huge Hp Its not worth it. ppl have proven 450 Rwhp+ with stock manifolds )
lots and lots of pic of setups like this going round.
and makes it look so nice and tidy thats why Im going this way
