think this splitter will be bad on the street?

My front air dam didn't come with my '90 TurboII, and at high(er) speeds it kinda pushes a bit (not happy). I found someone selling this fiberglass front splitter, wondering if this will do the trick on the street. Picture is below:

looks kinda odd how the sides go up, they should be flat so you can bolt it to the bottom...

Scott,

Not necessarily, I've seen cars bolt it to the sides of the fenders/bumper skin rather than use the bottom..

For the street, I wouldn't use this, first serious dip and that thing is coming off in pieces if you aren't super careful.

It MIGHT help with a push on the front end, but I'd be looking more for suspension and alignment tweaking before I'd start messing with aerodynamics.. Without the right design and some means of testing, drag can be more of a deterrent than the extra downforce can help..

Just my .02

I hear MikeL is making some very slick ones. He posts quite a bit on that 'other' forum that is dedicated to the 2nd Gen exclusively. PM me if you can't think of it.

Personally, after reading some posts made here by that individual, I won't touch it.

However, Chris Wire sells a S5 front splitter that most of the racers in the hotly contested Central Florida SCCA region use.. It's fairly inexpensive too. I will be ordering one very shortly. He's on the forum as TeamWireRacing, check in with him.
