Things to consider when upgrading my suspension???
Hey guys,
I've got an S5 TII project and I'm almost finished. The next step is my suspension and I'm just wondering what else I should be getting done besides the obvious spring/shocks or coilovers.
I want to make sure I can get a proper alignment done after the car has been dropped so I don't ruin my tires. I would imagine I'll need some rear camber adjustment and I'll be getting a set of energy suspension bushings. Is there anything else??? Toe eliminators, pillow mounts, etc.....
NOTE: this is a summer daily driver that will hopefully make a track appearance at some point. I'll be running the 1/4 mile (car is 410 RWHP).
Also, any input on a good set of coilovers would be nice. I'm leaning towards something in the Tein line, but any other suggestions would be great!!
Thanks!

You could just get your car re-aligned after dropping it. I'd recommend KYB coilovers they ride like a dream, but there are also other brands worth checking out...like Tein, Zeal, Cusco, Silk Road (JDM). Get whatever appeals to you the most, I'm saying KYB because I've driven a few cars with KYB coilovers and they handle ******* amazing...especially at 140 km/h down windy roads.

When shopping for shocks, consider your future plans. If you want to get coilovers eventually, be sure to get something that'll be able to handle the spring rates. Konis are the best of the off the shelf adjustables, KYB's are a good budget buy, but they aren't rebuildable and re-valveable like the Konis (I don't think). With a Koni you can always get them modified to fit just about anything that you might want to do later on. This is also a big consideration with coilovers. Lots of the JDM stuff will have to be shipped back to Japan in order to be fixed, meaning expense and possibly months of downtime. At least with something like a Tein you've only got to send them to California to get them serviced. Also consider durability, as many of the really cheap stuff will wear out pretty darned quick, making it not such a good deal in the long run.
