You're making conclusions because of this picture.

What he is saying there, is that the spl spools slower, but is more likely to survive an engine malfunction(boom) than the kai, how they come to that conclusion I don't know..They cannot overhaul either of these turbos so they are making a careful decision, but they are most likey going to chose the spl in the end..
No those mounts are not 500 a piece, try about 400.00 US a set, you can buy them at autobacs for even less...Used they go for about 150-175.00
I really like their cars, I saw one of their FD's when I was there, the pictures don't do the craftsmenship justice...They are masters...Max

I know it's a drag car...pretty much anyone who has eye's could tell you that.
That statement in no way answers the question, (why run a turbo with only a velocity stack?).
earlier in the thread Infini IV answered me by saying that even a filter is a restriction
Had you said that it is a drag car and a velocity stack helps smooth out the incoming air flow giving a slightly quicker time or something like that, it would have been informative. But just stating the obvious is just a waste of time.

A troll?
If you knew your own answers, why do you bother asking them in the first place?
How fundamental do you want us to get?
We don't get paid to answer your questions.
You prepared to pay for them?
If you're getting advice for free - why are you bitching about them not being detailed enough?

Dude, you know very well I'm not a troll, (feel free to look up any of my posts in this section, I'm just a regular NA guy with a mildly modded FC looking to learn a little more about FI)....for that matter what are you, an ego-maniac?
Read my post and you would see that I didn't know the answer to my question, but Infini IV was kind enough to answer me with an explanation. You on the other hand only made a statement lacking any explanatory information, (yet another attempt to boost your post count?). When after all you surely knew that the question had been answered and needed no further discusion,(assuming you read the post by Infini IV)
I wasn't looking for fundamental answers, simply an answer, which I recieved and was happy with, but then you come along and waste everyones time by posting a needless statement. I never implied that you do get paid to answer my questions.....And no I would not pay for usless input from even the most informed member. Who is the one bitching here? And I wasn't bitching about lack of detail in any answer I recieved, I was wondering why someone would waste a post by simply stating the obvious and not including any useful information.
Take it easy man, if you are stressing over a simply question, you might need to take a break or something. I'm done with this thread.

Have to agree with My Junx here. I have always wondered why folks run an open turbo even if it is a drag car. I'm sure a bug or a chunk of rubber on the race track could do major damage with a turbine spinning at 120k RPM.
Answering with "it's a drag car" doesn't answer anything at all. Snide response. Haughty attitude. And no help![Big Grin](https://www.rx7club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Free bump for a real answer to the question.

Cause I thought both meant the same thing...
