Thermostat the wrong way, OH NO!

i was looking at the FSM tonight from front to back really inspecting everything. And i saw that the "Jiggle Pin" has to be facing the right side (facing UP) if you put this the wrong way , will it still work properly or can you really mess your car up.

Just wondering

It should still work fine. The purpose of the pin is to help bleed air out of the system but since most aftermarket thermostats don't have it, it's not the end of the world. I would still fix it though since it doesn't take much effort to swap it around.
