Thermo pellet mod?

I am intrested in this mod, i have read the Threads on the subject and would just like to know which method of moding the Pellet is most reliable?

I understand there is two diffrent ways of acheving the same goal, the first is to shim the pellet with washers and the second is to replace the pellet with a solid one (like the Atkins kit).

Does it make any diffrence?, is the only disadvantage of this mod the slower warm up time? and do i need to uprate the Oil regulator (if so to what?)

Thanks.

Doesn't make any difference - one just costs more.
You do not need to mod any other part of the engine for this.
You get more consistent oil pressure, especially at cold start.

Your engine will last much longer with the e-shaft pellet/mod... I read in an old copy of Grassroots Motorsports that this is the Achilles heel on the RX7... and they attribute many engine failures. Why did Mazda engineer this... totally useless!

It was done to speed warmup times of the engines. When it only circulates through the rotors, the vital parts come up to temp faster. The problem is that when it fails, it cooks the rotors.....
