Yeah, I'm going to have a really close look at it tomorrow. The previous owner claimed it was an S5 but I'm having doubts. I just got the car last weekend and this is the first chance I've had to really dig through it. I think it had an S4 AFM so at the very least, the electronics are S4. Is there any way to tell by the housings or irons if it is an S5 core?

Update: Found the throttle stop screw... it was turned out too much. I adjusted that, then readjusted the TPS, and now have a perfect idle! Also set the variable resistor back to about the center. So this thing appears to be all S4 - all the electronics are N318. There are threaded holes above the trailing plugs though, which someone said in another thread is an indicator of S5 housings. So maybe it's an S5 core?

For posterity, the idle stop screw on the 13BT is located on the back side of the throttle body. You can adjust it with the intercooler installed and the engine running. Just take a peep under the intercooler from the passenger side and you'll see it near the small hose that runs into the intercooler. A long phillip's screwdriver will get it. Be aware that any change you make to it will throw off your TPS, so readjusting that may be necessary. My method of setting idle on a TII:

Drive the car around for a good 10-15 minutes to warm it all the way up. Park it, shut it off, and remove the intercooler. Back out the idle stop screw right to the point where it no longer pushes on the linkage. This is the point where the throttle plates are completely closed. Now turn it back in about a half a turn from that point. It should push the linkage just a tiny bit.

Next, set the TPS (the lower one on S5's.) I like to use AaronCake's resistance method because it has always worked for me. Should read 1Kohm at idle and sweep to 5 or 6Kohm when you fully open the throttle.

Put the intercooler back on and start the car. It should idle between 750 and 850 when warmed up. If it's a little low or high, you can use a long phillips to make minüte adjustments to the stop screw while the engine is running.
