I too hit a brick wall for a long time. Here's what I learned. The tenax on our verts has TENAX - GHE stamped on the fastener. They were made by Happich in Germany. Please note that German tenax are not compatible with Brittish or US manufactured tenax as best I can tell. They are machined differently.

The Mazda dealer price for them is ridiculous!

Happich does not sell retail. Until today, I have been unable to find a retail vendor of the GHE tenax. I just Googled Tenax - GHE for the thousandth time in
months and this came up as the first hit! : However, it is a German site posting on Ebay.

Translated it appears that the price is only for the "top" which I take to mean the fastener. You have to contact them for the studs and pricing.

A second caution, I suspect that all your studs are rusted like mine. If you look at the Parts Manual and the top's lower rail, note that there are 6 studs for the boot fasteners, 5 studs with nut machined tops and 2 studs on both sides above the drain pocket. The two above the drain poskets do not appear to screw directly into the lower rail. They are secured by a nut. I fear simply removing the studs above the pockets will allow the nut to wander/fall. Maybe somone who has replaced their top themselves can enlighten us/me.

Anyway, we need at least two types of GHE studs. The fastener ends and the flat ends. Good luck!! Lets us know what you find on availability and pricing of the studs.

Post note: the link as posted here is much shorter that the actual link. You may have to Google to get the complete link

Post script. The vendor is tenax-shop.de. It does not appear to have the flat end studs.

Hai-tek7 They are machined different. German are 10 mm long and the thread and pitch are unique to German manufactured.

I read the above, but the ones on my Miata are very similar to the ones on my RX7 convertible.
That said, on Miata.net, someone had a link to it. Try a search on that forum for Tenax fasteners in the interior/exterior part of the forum.

They are generally masters of finding stuff on that forum and very professional for the most part.
