take off the flywheel bolt first. I did my first 13b dissassembley without much knowledge or a manual. The flywheel was extremley hard to get out because of the extra play after taking oue the front cover and gears and stuff. I ended up reinstalling the stuff in front to get my flywheel out

the rotary aviation video mentioned something about looseing the front bolt then breaking the rear eshaft nut free if you are not using air tools but it never mentioned if i should do the same if i did have air tools. Im guessing cracking the bolt loose wont hurt anything

I have a 750ftb impact gun so it donut matter what one you take off first. If you do not have this equipment its gonna suck tearing a motor down but you should take the front bolt off first as it is harder to stabilize the E shaft with the flywheel removed and is always the same difficulty to take the flywheel off.

Sorry guys, I guess I ddint mean front bolt. I didnt have a rotary engine stand at first, so I took off the front bolt and the stationary gear. It wasnt the flywheel bolt that gave me trouble. It was prying the flywheel off.

Im curious though, why should the front bolt be taken off first?

The torque on the front eshaft bolt is crazy. Along with the loctite on it, it took 1000ftlb impact gun to take it off. With the flywheel nut still on, it holds the shaft from rotating with the front eshaft bolt when you go to take it off.

Yes, break it loose while the flywheel nut is still tight.
