I think the stock (1G) wheels were 7" wide +50?
If they are, they will not fit.
Unless these winter wheels are narrower than stock?

16x7" +40mm is an Eagle Talon fitment. So my Talon's winter shoes would fit my FC too.

You will need a hub spacer... I tried to fit my vert wheels on my 2g talon and the hubs are much smaller diameter on the FC.

So why does this mean he needs spacers to put a big hole over a small hub?

Because RX-7's and talons are HUBCENTRIC, not lugcentric. Your wheel rests on the hub and the lugs hold it on. Leaving the hub hole too big is going to cause a lot of problems, like shearing all of the lugs off and losing a wheel.

Hmmm...a lot of aftermarket wheels are not hubcentric, but I've rarely seen one sheer all the wheel studs.
I think this is a bit extreme?

For street use, if the lug nuts are proper and tightened to the appropriate torque with a good torque wrench, I would highly doubt any of the wheel studs would fail.

Is it worth leaving to chance? Spacers to correct the hub diameter shouldnt be costly or hard to find in the least.

Sure, I don't have a problem with it.
I've got GAB Sports on my FC for the past 5 years with no problems on stock wheel studs and lug nuts.

Actually, hubcentric *adapters* are fairly hard to find, especially down here locally.
The FC uses some of the smallest hub centers in the industry.
Good luck trying to find some that will actually fit correctly.
I've noticed that eBay has a BUNCH of hubcentric adapters available, but all of them are listed wrong for the FC3S application?
I think stock hub center is ~59mm?
Can someone confirm that?
One vendor claims the FC hub center is 60.1mm, which I know is not correct?
