tach doesnt work
my tach doenst work and never has since i got the car. ive been searching this site for about 3-4 days and nothing helped. there is a beeping coming from the car only when im driving. it beep twice pauses then beeps again. ive read that it is the speed sensor. can someone tell me how to fix this or test something to see what else is wrong. the guy i bought it off said he rebuilt the alternator. dont know if this means anything. the alternator does charge. any help please.

hey
my tach doesn't work either and through extensive analysis i have come to the conclusion that since the tach is runned off the trailing coil i check the continuity of that wire its a yellow and blue wire so i checked that its fine then i swapped gauge clusters same thing no tach then i hooked up a timing gun and checked if the trailing plugs were firing bingo theres my problem my car started up and all i could drive it but non of the plugs were firing so i tested out my trailing coil it was fine as well so i read around and the only three possiblities are that there is a bad ground, the ecu is gone and/or the crank angle sensor needs adjusting which makes sense since i did mess with it thats my analysis of the situation i hope it gets you on your way i still have to fix mine i recently did these test and today this was my conclusion

since the tach isn't working. the power steering computuer probably isn't getting a RPM signal which it needs. that beeping is the power steering computer telling you something is wrong.
first step is to check and see if your trailing coil is sparking.
