T2 rear axel swap to 86NA

To do the swap do I have to also swap 4 to 5 lugs to make the axel swap work?
thanks

Yep. And differential as well. Which means using the TII driveshaft, so you need the TII transmission, and thus the TII flywheel/starter/clutch/slave cylinder as well.

Unless you have a driveline shop build custom parts, of course.

I have a 88 base non turbo, changed out the axles, diff and d-shaft to TurboII stuff and kept the 88 base non turbo hubs. Works great.

dos you 88 have 4 lugs.......this is what 'm trying to find out ...i'm about to start my TII swap into a 86 with 4 lugs and debating on getting the custom drive shaft and a new lsd or getting the TII rear end...bt idon't want to do the 5 bolt conversion right now because then i would need rims and stuff
so if it will fit into the 4 lug hubs i would definately go that way

What you can also do, is buy a Miata transmission, and put the gearing into the N/A box (it only needs to have the input shaft machined to fit, RX7girlsomething did it on her car, and it is better with shorter gearnig and all) As for the diff, are you looking for an LSD? A miata torsen type LSD fits into the N/A FC pumpkin as well, I've seen it done.

The guy is asking if the TII driveshafts will fit into the NA 4 lug hubs.

I dont see why they wouldn't, they should all be interchangable as long as you have the right one for the differential you're using. Afterall if you can fit the 5 lug gubs on the 4 lug axles, this would only make sense.

However everyone is wanna tell you you need the brake setup, which you probably do if you have a more powerful engine.
