T2 Conversion Finally Running!
Ok, it's been about 5 months since I started this project and it ended up being a lot more work than I originally set out to do, lol (originally I was going to just to the swap and that's it, no cleaning, painting, etc). I am only going to post a handful of pictures here since most are already hosted on my website (most listed under the My T2 Conversion link). Anyhow, I'd like to thank the people of this forum who directly and indirectly helped me with questions and concerns I had (gotta love that SEARCH button!).

Thanks again guys, it's great to share this with FC enthusiasts because half the people that talk to me about my car or see some progress pictures of what I am doing look at me like I'm insane or something.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Great to see you finally got off your *** and got that thing on the road! Just remember to be easy on it, and drive it as much as possible for breakin...road trips help trememdously.

IF anyone else is interested in such a setup, I have 3 to offer at this time, the engine to be built to spec. Price in the $2500-2800 range, plus shipping and installation. Contact me for details, and read this page:

Nice shameless plug.....That is a very nice swap. I hope my car will look that nice some day. Now all you need to do is shave the side moldings and it'll be perfect. Great job.

I've got to say that Kevin is a straight-up person. You ask a question and he'll answer it, and it will be an honest answer. (I had to say that so I could be qualified for discount prices with him later, lol j/k)
I should also thank Icemark and NZConvertible for answering some questions I had a few months ago when all this was new to me (although they may not remember it). I sent them each a PM with questions and they promptly answered, and one even referred me to Kevin. I'll also thank silverrotor for the FD alternator and some encouragement, as well as Husemoller for constantly being on me to get this conversion done, and finally Dave from FC3S.org and some of the other forum members (from here and the clubfc3s forum).

That is one real nice job. Your efforts are what makes this community so strong. We should send all newbies here first. I hope to have simular results on my 89 vert next spring.

7,000 is acutally a very good number considering the quality and time you put in. Not only do I commend you for the time and effort you put in your car, but the time you put on your website to explain what you went through.

Very impressive, if you're going to the trouble to pull the driveline out you may as well do exactly what you've done... re-paint all the bits and go that extra step, it obviously really made a difference.
