T2 Conversion Complete!
Well, I finally managed to pull it off. It started way back on march 5th with an unexpected oring failure. I wrapped it up about 2 weeks ago and got all the major kinks out of the way. It definetly was time consuming in my case but so far its been worth it.
Pretty much id like to thank all the forum members who helped me out along the way ranging from tech. advice to parts and tech. exp: Icemark, BanzaiToyota(made an awesome midpipe), BoostedRotors, DomFD3S, M5150, chrismckinless, Agent D, Jrat and quite a few others on the forum and even more offline. This car is definetly a time investment shared by more then just me at this point.
As for how I like it and some pictures, I think my latest thread speaks for itself: Enjoy!!
Edit: The cars still not done and is always under a continuing state of improvement. My goal of building a FC in the prime is far from complete

Glad to hear that your car is up and running.
Now I have to get my act together and get my car done. I've decided to purchase a blown motor and rebuild it entirely.

Thanks guys!
The NA transmission is iffy at times. It spins the tires throughout first, but clutch clips in 2nd. It holds power in third and higher though. Those initial vacuum leaks prevented me from doing an optimum break in. I think it'll hold up for a little while longer but ive taken steps already in aquiring a T2 driveline.
Just need to replace my TID, order a new temp gauge and I should be set
Yea its quite different in power compared to the NA. The NA had a very linear power delivery as where the T2 motor has boost at approx. 2800rpm and keeps going until I hit 4700rpm, then its as if time stops and keeps pulling deep into 7. Overall, I enjoy it, just need to get my suspension in better shape now.

Yo,
Congrats man, just make sure your motor is getting enough fuel!
I don't want to see a "Just blew my motor" thread outta you!
*grin*
And what's wrong with your suspension?! Heh.

It was the rear coolant seal BTW, but the middle section seals looked pretty iffy as well. I wonder if it had anything to do with the block off that you had coming off that plate.

ah, interesting. Do you mean the blocked coolant line to the rear rotor housing?
Which FC are you gonna install it in?? Cant wait to see it run again
Rarest- lol thanks. yea I need to make sure im watching everything carefully and will have it on the dyno very soon. The suspensions great but I still need to get those MS brace bars.

I am keeping my eye out for a 87 Sport, or 88 GTU though, to drop the 13BT driveline back in. Gonna make a GT like Mazda showed back in 86 with the first Turbo.
I am leaning towards using a TMIC though on the GT. So if that is the case, I'll see if you want to buy the FMIC
Here's an article on the GT:
