synchronic blow off valve

So a friend recomended me to get a Synapse synchronic blow off valve. So I called a friend to ask for a price on it, and the parts guy said that his customers were complaining about it. Anyone had problems with their's?

I guess the design is a good idea, but the blow off valves aren't that great? What do you guys recomend? I don't want a real loud blow off valve. I have a bnr stage 2 running 15psi max

i recommend the HKS pull types...if you want quiet you can buy a recirc kit for it, or just take out the plastic insert that gives it that high pitches whistle...

it actually works a lot like the factory air bypass valve, believe it or not. the synchronic is open at idle without the installation of a check valve (their recirc kit is a type of check valve). It just has a bunch of different ports on the side which are confusing and unnecessary. There's also a preload adjustment.

this may seem "ghetto" to some people, but you'd be better off venting the stock one to atmosphere (with a hardware store check valve) if you want some sound and put that extra $200 to something else. the stock one doesn't leak. Try blowing compressed air through it with using clamped hose (just like it would be on a car). It will hold a shitload of pressure. The reason why it holds so much pressure is that the air enters from the side and basically hits a wall. It's not directly working against a spring or diaphragm. When the vacuum is applied to the valve, the "wall" lifts and air can pass through.

It's also free. There's nothing wrong with its design. It's a pull type valve, and when vacuum is applied (8 inches mercury?) it lifts up the valve.

I'm actually running a greddy FMIC kit, so recirculating is too much of a hassle. I'm really looking into the synapse one, but i'm having second thoughts after what the parts guy said.

Which BOV is known to be most quiet without recirculating?

Thanks Devin. I'm still debating. I've heard a lot of good and a few bad things. One of the bad things is that it was throwing a Check engine light for this guy with a mazda 3 I beleive, but I could care less about that. I'm going ot vent mine.

My friends parts hookup said they had one on his high hp build, iddn't like it, so he sodl it used, and the guy that bought it didn't like it either. I didn't know the exact complaint. I'm debating either getting a normal designed bow like Tial that comes with various springs and rebuild kits available, you the synapse unit.

It's kinda hard for me to get a hookup price on parts and basically buy the blow off valve the does not recomend
