Symptoms of blown Apex seals

Yesterday I ran into a curb on the left side when skidding in the rain. As far as im concerned the only thing that should have been screwed up should be the alignment. Go that taken car of today. But later on today I started getting freaky temperature readings. I started seeing my temperature jump waaayy high and fluctuate spontaneously also that would happen along with sudden small studders in rpms. I know its not the cooling system because i did a whole cooling system check about a week ago at the dealer shop, replaced water pump and found nothing leaking at all. Could these be symptoms of engine problems? Or just my temperature guage acting wack? Cause when it does increase in temperature and i pop the hood there is no temp increase and the car still runs fine...but its just seems freaky with all that temp jumping!! Any ideas?

If you fear the apex seal, get a compression gauge and do a compression check.

If its running fine, it is most likely not an apex seal.
