Swapping Rear End

Ok so I recently did a S5 TII swap for my N/A and I have the TII driveshaft and the differential but I am trying to figure out what the difference in the half shafts are??? they seem to be the same size/diameter/length/bolt pattern so why do I need TII half shafts? The reason I ask is because they are almost impossible to find.
