Swap 1989 N/A and 1987 TII into an 1986 Sport
OK let me start off. I first had the 87 TII but it is a rust bucket. Everything has rust on it. So I placed an ad that I needed a roller. A guy in my home town gave me a a complete 89 N/A 5 speed minus some interior stuff. But the front end was damaged and it didn't have a title. So I also bought a 1986 Rx7 sport (the one that comes with 5 lugs all around and 4 piston brakes) also a 5 speed. The 1986 body is near perfect but doesn't have an engine or tranny. What I plan on doing is swaping over the engine, tranny, rear end, fuel pump ecu and hood from the TII into the 86. Is there anything on the 89 that I can remove from it that will better improve my performance on the 86?

Unfortunately somebody painted the spoiler and it looks like ***. And it's cracked at one of the mounting locations. My TII didn't have a spoiler either. Is this normal?

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
The majority of the S5 parts are heavier and softer, as far as performance increases. Mazda did some cost cutting and softening on the S5 versions compared to the S4.
So from a performance end, no. Not much you can swap over. Maybe the rear spoiler, body side trim and bumpers if you like them, but as far as performance the S4 sport is pretty well set up better from the get go.
Now if you use the S5 suspension it will be a little softer and more isolated, and some people really like that.
