I have the standard GC coilovers (they have adjustable? Or is it that you can use whatever spring rates you want?) with KYB AGX struts set on full hard. The only lateral movement/ body roll comes from the sidewalls of the tires. P/O had 17" rims on it and you couldn't make the body move. Oh yeah, thats with stock front cool bar and the rear one removed. Excellent road feel, super predictable, very linear feel. I can drift in the wet (on parking lots of course) and still be perfectly under control. It was designed for the race track (and beating up on unsuspecting Porsche 944 owners) where it apparently did very well. I so far have only used it for twisty back roads where it is excellent.
The downside is a pretty damn stiff ride, but its still tolerable for street use.

Racing beat w/ Koni struts. The ride is great on most roads, but abit harsh on potholes. I daily drive the car, and its definatly tolorable, but find it works best on a auto-x course. In the near future I am planning to get some SilkRoad coilovers w/ abit softer spring rates.

Eibach pro-kit, Tokico blues, Tein camber plates and some polyurethane bushings. Fuzion ZRi's (205/55-15) on stock TII wheels. Dirt roads aren't usually much fun, but rough roads aren't too bad. The chassis is dead neutral and will easily handle double the posted speed (if not more) on nearly any corner. I have several Street Tire awards in CSP at the local AutoX and won CSP on my first ever hillclimb. I've had more fun with this car than I ever thought I could have with a car.

Racing beat suspension with the sways/springs combo. Then koni sport yellow struts. Also, the polyurethane bushings all around. Adjustable end links for the sway bars. Rear steer eliminator.

I really do like the way it handles and has very little body roll.

From KW. You have to send them the stock shocks and they will make you some new ones.

Some Pics

i have been running jic flta-2s on my t2, they are a little stiff and a little loud for the street, we have some bad roads in vegas. but well worth it at high speed or on the track autocross or drifting, i mainly play on the streets drifting. they are totally worth the rough ride allthough i do think i need to rebuild me rears.

Talking

Daily Driven '88 s4 N/A.

These springs - EIbach Prokits w/ Tokico Blues are S-T-I-F-F. I love it, though. It rides nice and tight, very responsive. I'm sure once I replace my tie-rod ends and get a new rack and pinion it'll drive like perfection.

Cheers,

The text on the webside sais "The double-tube gas shock absorbers are generally [...]"

I like them very much. The feeling of the car is very perfect. You know what the car will do befor it will do it. I am not a very good driver, but the car handles very good at the track. If some oversteer occours it is very easy to get the car back. Even a complete drift through the "small karussell" (a bumpy banked turn on the Nürburgring Nordschleife) was controllable. I let the brake off to late in the entrance of the turn.
The sideway g forces are very high, too. A pal has forbidden me the use of street legal slicks cause my car is with old street tires fast as his car with street legal slicks.

I hear you. I bought a set of Ohlins coilovers, and one of the rears needs to be rebuilt. Needless to say, it's taking FOREVER, because the rebuild centers in the US need to communicate with people in Japan, etc. What a mess.

My current setup is:
KYB AGX shocks with front set to level 2 and rear set to level 4 but needs tweaking.
RB Convertible springs
Energy Suspensions bushings
Suspension techniques front and rear sway bars.
Adjustable (camber) Mazdatrix rear suspension link
Ingalls Front spindle ajustable bolts (Top only) may add bottom to tweak alignment if needed
Currently running the original 15" vert wheels and 205-60 BF goodrich which will either be replaced with a new 17 X 7.5 wheel and 215/45 tire combo if I can find light and affordable wheels or I will simply upgrade the 15" to perhaps a 225/50 size tires and keep the ultralight vert wheels.

I got Kyb Agx shocks on Eibach springs.
Front is set to 4 and the rear is set to 6
Its my daily driver, the setup is a little hard, but not hard enough to break your back going over cobble roads and other bumps.

I am running Eibach pro kit springs on Tokico blues. It is stiffer than stock but not too much. Body roll is noticeably less though.

i still have to put them on the car, but: KYB AGX shocks, with....Tanabe GF210 springs which i don't even see on your list?

i picked the GF210 over the other springs because:
- a good drop of 1.5inch front/rear, not too much but noticeable. RB wasn't enough and the 2.0+ drop springs were too much IMO since that will affect rear camber quite a bit.

- a good spring rate. most of the other springs out there are too soft, or one end is unusually stiffer than the other (front/rear balance), except for the RSR springs, which IMO are too stiff for AGX shocks.

- good price and good manufacturing process from Tanabe

RSR down are also another good choice, i couldn't find a set as easily and they cost more.

the Eibach and RB springs are also both good, but they more or less retain stock ride quality. i think the spring rate increase is not enough to affect performance all that much. but for a daily driver, or if you want to keep it feeling stock, these are good choices (recommend the RB).
