Ground control coil over kit ($400) with a full set of non adjustable tokicos ($500). Try to mount the amps as far forward as possible along with anything else that could be moved between the axles.

www.k2rd.com the agx KYB are on sale $355 for all 4. If you are serious about racing then the GC coil overs might be a good idea, if not go with RB springs or ST springs!

I'm curious why everyone thinks the GC coil overs are a race ready mod? The price is about the same as the springs, but you get to adjust ride height. I can't see any reason to NOT get the coil overs. The ride quality is actualy better with the GC setup on my vert. I'd like to hear some reasons to use the RB springs ...

In my case I bought the ST's, KYB AGX, and suspension energey for a total of $600, so with an extra $200 for the cost of the GC, I got shocks and all around Poly bushings!
So let me ask you what is the purpose of using GC in a daily driven car, that may not see solo II in its whole life?

I'd agree. because unless you set up the coil overs correctly by corner weighting. you could just as easily upset the handling and make it worse, rather then making it better. some times too much adjustment is a bad thing. the aftermarket spring's company did all the adjustment and testing for you. now you just bolt it on. and for less money.
unless you are crazy like a few of us , I don't really see the need for coil overs. unless you just want a different height then what any of the spring companys offer.

If you're into autocross & drag racing, you can change springs depending on what the car is doing that weekend without pulling the strut apart every time.

The reason why people who road race use coil overs is why?
- better handling
The reason I use coil overs?
- better handling
- ride height adjustability
- more room for tire
- more suspension travel when lowered
- lower stance improves looks and aerodynamics
All that is worth $200 in my book.

If you go with springs and the drop looks uneven front-to-back, or it's not what you hoped for, you're outta luck.
With coil-overs, you're guaranteed to get the ride height you want. $200 is not a lot of money to make sure the results are exactly what you want. Some people would rather gamble on results if it means saving money, but no-one likes it when they lose.
I guess that's the fine line between the perfectionsist and the 'good enough' guy. If you're a 'good enough' guy, then springs should be just fine. They were for me.

I am just droping this, you all have your own ideas, all I have is a tight budget. However to those who are reading this thread, ask TED for his opinion. I recommend Ted bcause to most of you (including me) acknoledge he is a very informative guy.
Then talk to me about it

I have never autocrossed; nor have I ever said I did. Where do you see me stating that I autocross? I mentioned road racers use the coil overs for greater handling capabilities but that does not mean I road race. This should not have turned into a heated discussion. I'm sorry if you took any of my posts as a insult.
