I'm not a huge turbo guy, but I'd much rather just move the IC from the top mount position to a good front mount position and get a N/A aluminum hood. You'll save a bit of weight, gain much better cooling levels, better aerodynamics, and better cooling since the engine compartment will only be pressurized from the from of the vehicle thus promoting better air flow through the radiator, over the engine and under the car.

that seems like it may be a cost effective way for toying around with different kinds of dynamics... i say elaborate a bit and see what you can make out of carboard! just my .02
and to stray off topic just for a second. i bought hood brakets from aerodyne that lifts the back of the hood up several inches....now from what you guys were sayin before high pressure on top and low on underside of the hood right?
would raiseing the back create a higher pressure on top and lower on bottom of the hood?
im tryin to think of it in terms of something like a plane wing...maybe i shouldnt tho
ps sorry if this topic was already covered

the aerodyne hood raising kit is supposed to make the hood act as a cowl induction hood would, sucking hot air out of the engine bay, how effective it is, i have no clue. im gonna get a set soon, ill test the engine bay temp before and after, although i need to know what i need to check the temp under engine, could i just tape a 300 or so degree thermometer to the underside of the hood??

another problem and solution is that if i wanted to add 4 for extra security, (not sure if extra 2 is nessisary) i would have to have the pins be extra long because of the adjust height of the back...
as for the actual topic lol i say forgive and forge,t good luck, experiment, have fun, keep with it.

I didn't read entirely through this thread but I'm assuming the controversial airflow direction through the TII scoop is being discussed.....?

lol you are stupid, those area's denote pressure areas, not the way the air is flowing, arrows pointing down does not mean air is going that direction, if that was the case the TMIC would get no air, use your brain.
if that was the case then the FC pushes lots of air right off the front bumper "look at me, im a dumb inbred redneck" im finished with the 2nd gen section for good, i quit posting for 2-3 years, threads like this, the pennzoil oil thread and coolant threads are the reasons i quit posting, again as i said in the pennzoil thread, helpful people, your cool, NZ, AV8TR, biscuit, all the stupid people, stick it up your asses.

That's still cool to see that. you think you can find one of those for an rx with a scoop and spoiler? i'm sure neither are completely the same as that one. i guess it just depends on how you interpret it. high pressure at the windshield is because the air is changing directions really quickly, i think the scoop would receive similar pressure since it's causing the same thing more or less. you did say that was a high pressure area though, and you managed to prove it.

damn cardz, you have got to be one of the most dense people ive ever seen.
haha, nice way to take my statement out of context, i was pointing out the fact that you are the dumb redneck because you think the pressure area's are how the air flows, your a ******* moron.

Hey....cardzrule, in case you didn't notice....we're talking about the little arrows pointing down at the base of the windscreen....that means....uhh....low pressure...
Sorry to burst your bubble there...
EDIT: Ok let say it in terms you understand, that means that if you drill a hole where those little arrows pointing down are all the way inside the car and you put a cigarette next to it going 50mph, it would suck the smoke out of the inside of the car through the hole...
get it? get it?
