I'd like to know if there's any way to get rid of the sun roof and remove the mechanism, and simply replace the top with some sort of carbon fiber piece, if at all possible. Thanks.

Get the lexan roof. Theres a group buy for $165 i think. Please don't go with a CF piece unless you plan to paint it.

Does the lexan piece allow for removal of the motor assembly? Because that's basically all I care about. I just want to save a little money and more importantly lower my center of gravity.

You have an '88 SE? I had one too and it definitely had a sunroof.

For your taste - I suggest you remove the sunroof assembly cover it with visqueen & duct tape.

Trade me. I have neither and it sucks. I want a sunroof 'cause sunroofs are cool... and a rear wiper so that I can see out the back when it rains. Seriously.


Oh, and by trade, I mean cars. If you want no sunroof/rear wiper so bad you can give up a few miles or so on the motor.

really, it is not going to make that much of a difference. You will probably increase ur track time if you invest that 160$ into your track time.
