Stupid Gaskets
I'm in/mostly was in the process of removing the LIM gasket (which I think was probably still the stocker). I, stupidly, didn't use gasket remover. I managed to make some shallow scrapes and scratches on the LIM. The new gasket SHOULD cover them. But does anyone have experience with this, should it be ok? None of them are more than .05 cm deep I'd say.

Lol, work is a biatch today, but I'm here. I've never used the copper stuff. Look at the back of the tube. GE red RTV is good to 500*F, which may or may not cut it at the LIM-to-engine gasket...Hey- also, use a rotary pneumatic die-grinder type tool with some 3M scotchbrite type rotary pads (available at auto parts stores), and problems removing gaskets will be a thing of the past

The copper is the highest temp stuff they had, so I got it. Well, if it doesn't work, I still have the regular gasket there.
Thanks wayne
Apparently copper is good up to 700 degrees. We'll see...

That should do ya good, then. Remember you just need a thin coat- don't use so much that you're squishing it into the runners while you're torquing her down...

Yeah, I'm just going to put a thin coat, then a bit thicker bead where I chipped it a bit. It's not bad, I'm just looking for some insurance.
