I was having the same problem as the OP, tried everything to remove the half shaft and nothing worked!

Im replacing the half shaft and wheel bearings anyways so i didn't really care if i damaged it.

What i did was remove the whole assembly, place it on a solid table and hit it as hard as i can like 5 times until it came looses.

PICS

These shot out the other end of the half shaft

I've got the wheel hub assembly loose from the car but I can't figure out how to disassemble the ujoint. I was working on the one nearer the hub. Got a link to the disassembly process?

See signature. You do not want to disassemble the joint with the splined end. It's duable but that side really isn't ment to be taken apart. Only disassemble the side mating to the diff by removing the cover and removing c-clip.

If you really need to, there is a c-clip on the splined end that needs to be removed before it will come out...

pyrrhic VICTORY!!

I got the hub and halfshaft out of the car last night. Taking the diff flange off was simple easy. I let it sit overnight on the engine stand with a pool of PB in the spline well. Whacked on it with a hammer in the morning and nothing.

Decided to take one of the older gear heads advice and bring it in to work and put it on the hydraulic press. After 15 TONS of pressure, it finally broke loose. Sounded like a large bore gun going off. Yes, I ducked. I still had to put a punch in there and press it all the way out.

Unfortunately, because of the odd shape of the hub assembly, the pressure appears to have deformed the mounting body, which means I'm going to have to get a replacement. Fortunately, there's a guy about an hour away with a couple of S5 parts cars that I should be able to get one off of.

Much thanks to all who chimed in with suggestions!!!!

Now it's on to the diff removal (sigh).

Get a buddy, some extra jack stands, a jack, a crawler + lots of beer. You'll need it.
