you should be able to move then VERY freely once the actuators are removed. engine off.

no need to grease anything if it is all clean.
wd40 is okay for assembly though.

the shaft sleeves are brass and brass is a self lubricating metal.

VDI? On a 1st Gen?

Do you have a series 4 (85-88) motor or a series 5 motor (88-91)?

The early 13b motors (series 4) did not have VDI.

PM me if you want a good way to make sure the 5 & 6th ports snap open. It's a Home Despot mod.

Ahhh! A heart transplant!

Check the harness to the secondary injectors and the VDI actuator. If still no joy, check the secondaries (should come on-line about 3500-4k).

edit: Could also be the fuel pump and/or grounding

Well, i took the intake off last weekend and found that the VDI was in perfect working condition. So I though I would take Snipers advice and check the auxilory ports. Why not right? got the intake off anyways. And sure enough, the actuator closest to the air pump(5ht or 6th?) was stuck again. I knew I didnt have the time to take the lower intake off and do it 100% right. So I used some carb cleaner and got it loosened some, butnot where i want it. Had to put it back together due to lack of time but it runs mucch better now.

Thanks Sniper X
