HA. I have the same problem with my Cusco. Just a warning, if your mounts aren't polyurethane your alternator will bang against your strut tower bar when at WOT and will play tricks on your ears. Sounds like detonation SO MUCH. I finally took mine out because of the shanigens. I have already lost one engine to pinging, not going to risk and assume its is the bar. My wideband doesn't lie but im not about to lose another 1500$ based on assumptions.

can you guys seriously not figure out why one alternator is higher, or lower than the other...
do you seriously think that EVERY alternator belt you get is the same?
Think about it.. what controls how high/low the alt is? the belt... if you want to fix this, take in your alt belt, and have them size you one a little bit smaller, and that will most likely fix your problem.

I had very tight alternator clearance with my strut bar (a Japanese aftermarket one), as well as crappy access to the oil and coolant fillers. I fixed both problems by fitting a genuine Infini strut bar. Gotta love OEM engineering.

I have the same bets on my new engine that were from my last. I would like to think that vehicle specific belts are the same length and diameter no matter what brand.
Maybe I will try a custom one.

belts are new. I was just looking at my Cusco bar and found evidence of gauling near the passenger strut tower bracket on the bar. I looked at my intercooler piping coming from my turbo and it has some nicks in it as well. Put the bar on the nicks line up perfectly. ****, maybe I need harder mounts because the piping has about half an inch clearence from the bar.
Or one of my mounts is FUBAR.

this is the strut bar , its full adjustable from some JDM car , i think the washer trick will work but will it then rub against my hood? how much clearance should i have?
