Wow, so I take it that It will cost me a fortune to replace this thing? I gotta replace the whole rail? I'll see if my friends S4 parts car doesnt have one spare rail, then I can grab an S4 PD for it.
Sound good?
I'm gonna sniff that hose next time I drive too.
thanks everyone for your help so far.

for the s5, you're looking at a whole new primary fuel rail.
my car had an intermittent fuel leak, turned out to be the fuel lines. i used the screw on clamps instead of the spring clamps...my mechanic told me that sometimes the fuel line gets compressed by the clamp and will leak (if you use a spring clamp, the spring continues to put tension on the hose whereas the screw type won't).
instead of switching to the spring clamps, he said i could use double screw clamps, facing opposite directions. so far so good with the double screw clamp method.

No, I havent verified that. The smell stopped recently and I'm going to pull the whole intake manifold and replace it with a polished/ported one, and at the same time replace all the gaskets and inspect/replace the injector o-rings.
