WA strange noise

I have a strange noise coming from my front end. Its kind of a clicking or popping sound ( I know its hard to explain noises with words) It happens mostly when I turn. Im assuming its a rack or struts. But I was wondering if someone has experienced this in any way to point me in the right directions. I had a 7 about 10 years ago and I remember it doing the same thing..It seems to make the noise more when its cold outside.

Mine is doing the same thing, I think its the struts. Does it make the noise when you hit bumps, or just while turning the wheel?

My best guess is the steering rack. My main experience thus far is fwd, and it's certainly not CV joints in this case, lol

hehe

Could be a wheel bearing, too.

It's more of a creaking noise, and it's the springs binding.

It does it mostly turning but does also when going over a speed bump in a straight line..It seems not to be as bad when its warm outside..

Well, Since you will probably have to replace one of either the struts, or springs, I would go ahead and change both. Thats what im planning to do anyways. But since I cant hear it myself it could still possibly be the steering rack as SpeedOflife previously stated. You might want to have someone that can actually ride in the car to diagnose it.

Its not AAS is it?
