A strange engine removal

I told my dad i was gonna have a few days off this week and i needed the engine crane but i didn't get it so being in a barn i decided to wrap a chain around the beam upstairs, drill a 2 inch hole through the floor and come-a-long it out. After i hoisted the motor out of the car i held the motor and had my little sister unhook it then i just set it down on the floor

i got the car 3 years ago and i started doing little stuff to it then more then more so over the winter i ported and polished the intake but when i put the header on i snapped off a stud in the rear housing and its impossible to get at in the car so i'm gonna have the machine shop get that out then i'm doing a turbo N/A so thats the plan. I have a 58k mile 87TII motor for a donor motor so i pretty much have all the stuff to do it besides the LIM which i'll have to either custom fab or have a shop do it for me i just did a compression test about a month ago and it came out great Front 90-90-90-115 Rear 90-90-90-115 and that motor runs perfect never had a problem with it so i'm gonna leave the shortblock alone for now

haha.......nice. my dad and uncle used to pull their cars up to trees and just wrap chains around some big branches and pull big heavy chevy and ford engines out. (when they were young and into cars more obviously)

Haha, looks almost identical to my engine pulling getup. We did mine in my grandma's super old garage and the wood started to crack as we were putting it back in. Scary yet made it just all the more memorable.

It's not bad putting an engine in with that set up. I've puller two out and put two in that way. Well not in a barn but in my garage with a come along hooked to the rafters. Works just fine! have fun with it man. good luck
