Straight Pipes?

So i was debating on putting straight pipes on my 91 non turbo. But i wanted to see if anyone else has done this to a second gen. And how it sounded?

Buy some earplugs for yourself & your neighbors. Why would you want to do this?

I had strait pipes on my 90 vert. Actually, the car had a bonez resonator and cat with straitpipes behind that when I bought it.

Make your ears bleed, your neighbors shoot you and the police arrest you. And really, the car is not any faster.

Have fun with all that.

You can hear my Car a half a mile away(seriously) with a Presilencer and a Racing Beat Exhaust..I hope you Don't plan to do any Further Modifications to your Car,as you won't be able to afford it with all the TICKETS you are gonna get!.Look into Borla XR1 and a couple Aftermarket Cans..that route is cheap, affordable and flows nicely.

I have a racing beat header, pre-silencer, and mufflers and I think the car is pretty quiet, almost too quiet

I took my mufflers off this weekend to hear what it would sound like with just a header, pre-silencer, and Y-pipe and it was way too loud.

My question is would a header, straight pipe, and racing beat mufflers bring the sound up, but not to an unbearable level? And who makes a bolt in straight pipe that will fit the full racing beat NA exhaust?

I've got a downpipe, then 2.5" straight back, with a nice big canned muffler. It's loud as hell, pops flames always, and I can be heard blocks and blocks away. I love it.

i would do straight pipes to some type off muffler. If you can ditch your cats that will free up alot of power but without a muffler a stock rotary sounds like a top fuel car, even idle is deafening. I would think dual thrush turbo's would sound great but only for a couple hours gotta find sumthin that won't burn up

it's hard to keep sound controllable on a non turbo. Straight pipes are not the way to go.

turbos are definitely easier to controll the sound on. Im Running a 3" downpipe to a custom hand built 3" cat delete to the stock cat-back. im going to delete the two canisters that are jus before the mufflers next. and so far its quiet still

i've got straightpipes to Racing Beat mufflers (no cats or presilencer) and its loud, but not horribly loud(dead sexy tho ). It will draw attention from cops if you're in the upper rpm range.

Just take off all the exhaust components... it will be HELLA FAST!!!!! Too bad you'll be in a ear-bleeding pile in the floor board after 2 minutes of persecution. Please.... buy something MADE FOR RX-7's. Normal stuff won't last & won't perform. I'm a Racing Beat fan myself, but others have good results with other manufacturers.

From the stock header, I've got 2.5" pipes to a melted-out glasspack, then to the stock cans. I actually like the sound- not crazy loud, but nothing shitty. A guy posted about his new Apex'i N1 or w/e muffler and had a video, and mine sounded pretty similar, just not as loud . And just for the record, the PO did all that. He said something about getting it off of a turbo... but I'm n/a...?

ok... so where is the original poster child? Can someone guess what I'm gonna say?(I have a RacingBeat RoadRace TrueDual setup) I'm a happy person but I spent some $$$$ on it.

Save your lunch money unless you are on the Raman noodle diet... then straight pipes would work just fine along with some sleepy eyes and a thumpin' nerf herder rym-busta wave guide fo' yo' posse bitch-*** corner workin' sister to bring home yo' stash so you can take that rap on to the screet & say yo! the MAN is comin' down on your def Azz with the WANKEL!!!

yaaa... i had removed my cat and had the can still to my two HKS mufflers and one day i took it out and my parents said they heard me for about 3 minutes driving away... which at my speed was quite a ways away, its really loud and it blew through my muffler and i was shooting flames and starting melting paint on my muffler...

so yes its a great idea!
